Cheryl A. Maloney, D. Min., Executive Director
Cheryl joined WCRC in March 2006, and brings over 25 years of nonprofit experience to her leadership role. Her education includes a B.A. in Theatre Arts from the University of Minnesota, an M.A. in Theology & M.A. Certificate in Pastoral Ministry from the College of St. Catherine, and her Doctor of Ministry from UCS in Oakland, California. While living in the San Francisco Bay Area for ten years, Dr. Maloney co-founded Bras for Body & Soul® and the HERS Breast Cancer Foundation in response to the growing epidemic of breast cancer. She is available for public presentations, special events, spiritual direction and interfaith ministry services.

Nancy J. Dahlberg, Support Services Coordinator
Nancy's professional background includes work at various non-profits and in vocational rehabilitation with the State of Minnesota serving people with disabilities.  Nancy is a cancer survivor, which left her with a disability.  She is dedicated to helping and empowering others with cancer through the benefit of her experience and personal insight.  Her education includes a M.S. in Rehabilitation Counseling and a B.A. in Applied Psychology.

Julia Earl, Children's Environmental Health Project Coordinator
Julia has worked with a wide variety of non-profits in her professional career during the past 20 years.  Her work has focused largely in the area of sustainable development, or helping to identify ways in which we can live today without compromising the integrity of the environment or harming human beings in the present or the future.  She has an M.S. from the University of Michigan in Environmental Advocacy and a BA in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin with a Certificate in Environmental Studies.

Benita Robinson, Outreach and Education Coordinator
For over a decade, Benita has done outreach to African American women with breast and cervical cancer. Since 2002, she has put her skills to work for the WCRC as the outreach and education coordinator. Benita has an AS in Women's Studies/Human Services and is currently working on her BA in Marriage and Family Counseling.

Betty Sanders, Woman-to-Woman Program Coordinator
Betty is a two-time breast cancer survivor and has worked in health care facilities administration for ten years. She has led the WCRC Breast Cancer Support Group for two years, and is a member of the African-American Breast Cancer Alliance. Betty's goal is "to give breast cancer information to as many women as possible. With information, we may be prepared."

Reona Berry, Cultural Navigator Assistant
Reona Berry is a 16 year survivor of breast cancer, and a founding member and current president of the African American Breast Cancer Alliance, Inc. (AABCA). The AABCA is an educational and support organization established in 1990 to disseminate information and provide emotional and social support for women, men and families in African American communities. She works for the Women’s Cancer Resource in Minneapolis as a Cultural Patient Navigator in the Woman to Woman and Sisters In Harmony programs. She helps to educate, navigate, and support women of color through the barriers and maze of cancer care treatments. She is a volunteer of various community and health organizations serving on boards and committees. Since being diagnosed, she tells people, “Breast cancer was a shock to my system but it changed my life in so many wonderful ways. I want to help others learn how to deal with this disease and take charge of their new life.”

Brad Neuhauser, Interim Administrative Assistant
Brad Neuhauser has worked at WCRC since October 2005. He maintains the donor database, helps with mailings, and has taken on a variety of other administrative tasks as needed. Brad has taught middle school, and is currently studying the field of Geographic Information Systems.


Consultants


Darlynn Benjamin, Disparities Program Director  
Darlynn brings over 11 years experience in serving the non-profit sector.  She has expertise in program and budget development, organizational management and strategic planning.  She holds a Masters of Science in Public Management and Policy from Carnegie Mellon University.  Darlynn will be coordinating the Health Disparities planning grant, developing an effective outreach mechanism to identify and serve African American and African women with breast and cervical cancer who reside in south Minneapolis. 

Katou Souphaphan, Laotian Health Care Navigator
Katou works as out bi-lingual Laotian Health Care Navigator as an outreach worker through the Woman to Woman Program in collaboration with the LAO Women's Association.  Katou is a 3rd year student at the University of Minnesota in public health.  She has worked in the past at Park Nicollet Clinic in St. Louis Park as a health care worker.   She has been trained about  breast and other cancers through the Women's Cancer Resource Center and will work with Pilot City Health Center.
