Make a Tax-Deductible Donation

The Women's Cancer Resource Center (WCRC) is a grassroots, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded by cancer survivors in 1993 to serve women with cancer and their caregivers. Your donation will help us to continue to provide services to women with cancer and those who care about them.

Please consider a tax-deductible donation of cash or appreciated stock (held for more than 12 months) to WCRC. You may also remember WCRC in your will through planned giving.

Your donation is a special way to honor a birthday or anniversary, or to memorialize someone you love as you help WCRC. All donations are recognized with a thank-you letter to you, an acknowledgment letter to the honoree and a notice in our quarterly newsletter.

Mail your donation to WCRC, 4604 Chicago Ave. S., Minneapolis, MN 55407 or donate online with your MasterCard® or Visa.®

Leave a Legacy
Do you have a written will? If not, state law decides how property will be distributed at death, often resulting in a spouse splitting assets in half with minor children. This would involve a court-appointed guardianship of the assets and may leave the spouse with inadequate support. If there are no heirs, assets will go to the state. If children are under 18, a will is needed to arrange for guardians. It's wise to have an attorney help you write a will or change a current will to make sure it's valid. Moving to a new state could invalidate a will. Some states require two or three witnesses, and a will must be written, not audiotaped. If you have considered leaving a legacy to WCRC through a will, we'd be grateful and happy to provide help. Contact us at 612-822-4846.

How to give without breaking the piggy bank
"I'd like to share a little story about how my family was able to make a nice gift to our church's building fund stock that had quadrupled in value. That was nice, but it meant if we sold it, we would have to pay capital gains taxes on the proceeds.

"So we gave some of the stock directly to the church. Since churches (and nonprofits) don't pay capital gains taxes, they got the full benefit of the stock's appreciation. And we took a nice tax deduction for the full current value of the gift. We loved being able to give more than we had in the bank!"

- Betty Beier

If you have been holding stock for more than a year that you'd like to consider as a gift to WCRC, call 612-822-4846.
