our great team as a volunteer with the Women’s Cancer Resource
Center. The Women's Cancer Resource Center (WCRC) is a non-profit
organization founded in 1993 as a grassroots center where women
with all types of cancer could find accurate, unbiased information
and support. The center has a strong commitment to raising questions
and working to address the disparities in cancer survival rates
between white women and women of color, and to provide information
to all women on the link between environmental toxins and cancer.
The center is open to all women with Cancer and their caregivers.
WCRC focuses on the needs of women who have been left out or under-served
by traditional health care agencies. The Mission of WCRC is “to
support women in taking charge of their cancer experience.”
We provide a wide range of services that empower women with cancer
to be informed, and enable them to make educated choices about their
health care. All educational and support programs are offered free
of charge to all women with any kind of cancer and their caregivers.
The organization has an immediate and critical need for volunteers
to assist with reception, administrative support, and other duties.
Some volunteer once a week, others once a year. We invite you to
help out as you are able.
